Swiss designer Florian Krautli has developed an application, that turn any surface into an iPhone keyboard. This application translate vibration from surface caused by tapping using iPhone's three dimensional accelerometer.
Using this application, your phone will sense a vibration from your finger as you tap on surface's invisible keyboard. Below video describe how Florian Krautli measure the vibration from his finger and translate those vibrations.
As shown in video, user have to calibrate surface and save it to use this app. Florian uses printed paper as keyboard, but its not necessary for typist who is habit of typing on keyboard, thats why its also called invisible keyboard.
Accuracy of this application is 80%, so this application is under developing to get more accuracy and will able to useful for all smartphones.
